Linguistic exchange interculturale Trentino / Tirol


Aim

Intercultural education, to consolidate foreign language skills, to offer occasions for active language competence testing, to create meeting opportunities amongst students and different mother tongue speakers, to strengthen relations between different realities in order to create consolidated interpersonal relationships.

General Aspects

The current project was discussed in a meeting held in Stams, a town in the Inn Valley (Austria), in the presence of Ms Claudia Hauser, president of the Stams Youth Centre (Verein zur Förderung der Stamser Jugend - Jugendzentrum Stams) and the following teachers: Sara Costanzi, Alessandra Dell'Eva and Loredana Dell'Eva. The idea is to organise a study sojourn in Ossana for the duration of one week in the period of July-August 2006 to involve a group of about twenty youths between the ages of 13 and 17 and 3 assistants.
The above mentioned teachers have, for years, been involved in a Trentino-Tirol intercultural language exchange project. Seeing the success of such an initiative the idea is to create a study holiday in Ossana similar to that created in these last years in Tirol.

Summer Sojourn Programme in Stams

The study holiday is organised by the Istituti Comprensivi Union of Ossana, Malè, Cles and Fondo and by the Stams Sommerschule co-ordinators who are Ursula Barr Raffl and Christine Mangweth. It is sponsored by Land Tirol and Provincia Autonoma of Trento.

The 7 day sojourn foresees :

seven day bookings
German lessons (18 hours) with mother tongue teachers
afternoon excursions and guided visits
sports and recreational activities
